On September 13, in the name of the CNRS, Geneviève Berger, Director General, sent a message of sympathy and compassion to Rita Colwell, Director of the NSF* (National Science Foundation), major partner institution of the CNRS in the United States. The CNRS expresses its condolences to the American people and in particular to the scientific community with whom it collaborates daily.
* NSF : the government
agency in charge of the funding and the promotion of basic research in
science and engineering at universities.
